Rural healthcare outreach and screening delivered by clinical teams and SRA fellows.
What Impact Medics does
Impact Medics is SHINE’s rural outreach programme. Clinical teams, joined by fellows of Sintieh Research Academy, travel to communities with limited access to facilities. They offer consultations, screening for common conditions and health education. Then they refer patients to partner hospitals through the MedAccess network. We plan each outreach with community leaders and the district health service.
Why Impact Medics works this way
Distance and cost keep many rural residents from care until a condition is advanced. Bringing a team to the community reaches people who would not otherwise be seen. In addition, fellows gain field experience in community medicine. As a result, outreach days also serve as a data source for research on unmet need.
Support Impact Medics
Organisations can sponsor an outreach day or supply consumables. Clinicians can volunteer through the careers page. Funders should use the partnership form, and facilities can join the network at medaccess.shineltd.org.

First, every study has a written protocol and ethical approval before data collection. Second, we report results to the partner as well as to a journal. Third, testimonials appear only with the person’s consent. As a result, partners can rely on what SHINE publishes, and readers can check every claim against its source.
