Health research careers at SHINE

Health research careers at SHINE take several forms. Staff and volunteer roles cover administration, programme management, research coordination and communications, in Buea or remote. The paid expert network offers project work to analysts, proposal developers, researchers and editors. In addition, fellowships and mentorship take a clinician from research question to published paper.

How we recruit for health research careers

Every open role is listed below with its closing date. Rolling roles are reviewed as applications arrive. You apply through the form on each role page with a CV and a short note. We acknowledge every application by email. Then we invite shortlisted candidates to an interview, usually online. We store applications securely and delete them twelve months after the role closes, as the privacy notice explains.

What health research careers need

Curiosity, discipline and a record of finishing matter more than a long CV. However, research roles need at least one analysis tool, such as STATA, R, SPSS or NVivo, and familiarity with the ICMJE authorship criteria. If no role fits, a speculative application is welcome.

A note on our standards

First, every study has a written protocol and ethical approval before data collection. Second, we report results to the partner as well as to a journal. Third, testimonials appear only with the person’s consent. As a result, partners can rely on what SHINE publishes, and readers can check every claim against its source.
